COVID Policy

as of 30/07/2020 Scot Gov has announced our sector can plan for reopening from 14th Sept.

Posters are on display informing our community of social distancing and cleanliness/hygiene protocols at Meadowlark Yoga (MLY)

Check out the video and watch for more updates from our Mysore Director, Emma Isokivi to find out about Mysore-specific protocol.

We commit to the wellbeing of our community; anyone coming to MLY with any signs of COVID-19 will be sent home to follow UK Government regulations.

We are implementing a temperature-taking measure into our protocol; see Fever Free Zone for more details. Everyone will have their temperature taken upon entry; anyone presenting with a temperature above UK Government guidelines  will not be permitted to enter the building.

We will ensure that social distancing is adhered to throughout the centres at all times by our community members.

It is down to the individual to take reasonable personal responsibility when participating in physical activity.

We will comply with any health designation documentation that the UK Government implements, and we ask for our community members to agree to all Covid-19 Health and Safety measures required to visit MLY.

PPE is mandatory, all staff and students will be required to wear PPE on arrival, in-studio and departing the building. Students are not expected to wear PPE whilst in class unless required by the UK Government guidelines.

If students wish to wear PPE it is their own personal choice.

Gloves are not mandatory as the World Health Organisation (WHO) advice is that it is preferable not to wear gloves but to regularly wash your hands.

For any 1:1 therapies at MLY, PPE is required to be worn by the client at all times, and clients will be requested to bring their own mask.

You will be asked to wash your hands before your class. Sanitisers will be on offer throughout the premises and people will be directed to where they can clean their hands.

At the time of booking, we request confirmation that neither they nor anyone they have been in close proximity to, have any symptoms related to Covid-19 within the last 14 days.

We ask all community members to confirm that if they or anyone they have been in close proximity with show any symptoms related to Covid-19 within fourteen days before visiting MLY, they will contact the studio immediately with that information.

We ask all students/clients if they have visited MLY for a class, workshop, course, training or treatment and show any symptoms relating to Covid-19 after their visit, to contact the MLY team immediately. Necessary protocols will be actioned if there is any possibility community member has visited MLY and after visiting is showing any symptoms of Covid-19.

Cleaning

If there is a COVID-19 case in the facility, we will follow the PHE Guidance – COVID-19 – Cleaning in non-healthcare settings while cleaning all areas of the facility.

Teachers will clean high-contact touchpoints throughout the premises before and after classes every day.

We have ensured necessary processes are in place to make sure social distancing is adhered to at all times for all community members with 2m spacing marked on the floor.

Changing Room/Showers/Toilets

Our changing rooms will only be accessible for use of the toilets and handwashing facilities – showers are not available at this time.

Extra care/signposting is provided to reinforce social distancing when in these areas. Spray and cloths will be available for community use for touchpoints.

Studios

Our community members must follow the social distancing guidelines (2m) at all times. We have adjusted our studio layout to allow for appropriate space between each mat, and will initially only use the Sun studio to keep spacing guidelines more easily manageable.

There will be clear signage in the form of floor markings and a one-up, one-down, one-in, one-out system in place to manage the flow of students entering and leaving classes.

There will be a minimum 30-minute window in between classes for thorough cleaning and sanitisation

We will not be providing mats and recommend that students bring their own mat and any props that they would like to use. The use of MLY props will be kept to an absolute minimum and they will be sanitised by the teachers after being used.

We are continuously updating our COVID-informed protocol for opening the studio for yoga sessions. Please use this link to see the latest: http://bit.ly/MeadowlarkCOVIDprotocol
